Admission Process

Thank you for your interest in our school.  Please follow the below steps to apply. If you have questions, contact our admissions office.

Step 1.

Register for one of our Open Houses or schedule a private tour.  We highly recommend that prospective parents attend one of our Open Houses or schedule an appointment to visit the school. These visits allow parents to explore the school’s philosophy and environment.

Step 2.

Complete the online application.

Please make an electronic copy of the applicant’s birth certificate and a 2 X 2 in picture.

Step 3.

Submit/remit a non-refundable $200 application fee to be paid per applicant (payable by cash, check, credit card or wire transfer).

Step 4.

Submit the following documents to the Admissions Office.

Applying to Nursery through 5th grade: the applicant’s current teacher must complete and submit the appropriate student evaluation form. The completed form must be sent to the Lyceum Kennedy admissions office directly from the applicant’s current school: smegal@lyceumkennedy.org.

Applying to 6th through 12th grade: the following letters are required.

    • A motivation letter written by the applicant, presenting his/her motivations for attending a bilingual program (attach this letter as you are applying online).
    • Letters of recommendation from two separate teachers (attach these letters as you are applying online).

The following required documents (if applicable) are included as part of our online admissions process:

    • A copy of the applicant’s report cards for the past two years
    • Custody documents

Step 5.

Schedule an LK academic evaluation (optional). Applicants may be invited to meet an admissions committee representative and/or take part in a class activity. During the visit, the school’s admissions committee representative will assess the readiness of the applicant.

Please note, if a child is out of state or lives abroad, he/she may be exempt from this segment of the LK academic evaluation.  If this is the case, the school’s admissions coordinator will contact the applicant’s current school or his/her parent(s)/guardian(s) for a more comprehensive assessment.

Step 6.

You will receive a decision letter from the Admission Office regarding your child(ren)’s application.  If your child is accepted, a $3,000 confirmation fee (non-refundable and part of the tuition) must be submitted to keep his/her classroom space.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Lyceum Kennedy begins accepting enrollment applications during the academic year for the following school year. Some of our classes reaches maximum enrollment; therefore, we recommend that you send your child’s application by December 1st.  We accept applications throughout the school year. If after your child’s acceptance, enrollment and payment of the $3,000 confirmation fee, your child does not for any reason attend school during the first week, your child’s enrollment will be cancelled and the $3,000 confirmation fee forfeited. Your child’s space will be immediately assigned to another student from the waiting list.
